“The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.” ~ Albert Einstein
Our faculty of awareness
We are born with the faculty of awareness, which is distinct from thinking. But we are not typically taught how to develop it, how to pay attention to the world around and within us. Why does awareness matter? Because it helps us to access joy and reverence, it is vital to our well-being and to our innate creativity. And it helps us tune into the new stories that want to emerge through our work.
There are many ways to cultivate awareness, from meditation to movement, poetry, music and visual arts. One of our favorites is a daily journaling practice, writing uninterrupted for 20 to 30 minutes on any topic or using a prompt.
